Why are Group Challenges Beneficial?

 

Studies have shown that embarking upon a weight loss journey with others helps you to lose more weight and maintain that weight loss better.  As a matter-of-fact, the Journal of American Medical Association published a study in which more than 400 overweight and obese women participating in the Jenny Craig Program (weekly one-on-one consultations, personalized nutrition, and activity plans) achieved an average weight loss of 10% of their body weight after one year, and nearly 8% at the two year mark, compared with self-dieters who lost 2% of their body weight.
 
In another study, researchers at the University of Pennsylvania compared solo participants to those who work out with a few friends and found that:  those who had buddies were more likely to stick with the programs 95% of the time, vs 24% of those that did it alone.  Not only that, but those who had buddies maintained their loss 66% of the time, vs. 24% of those that didn't. *
 
These were a few key factors in place that have helped me on my personal weight loss journey:  Support and Accountability!  These were 2 very crucial elements that were in place for me when I began my journey, and they helped me tremendously!  That is what I am attempting to provide through these weight loss challenges.  I used to be of the mindset that I worked out better alone, however I have come to learn that I will let myself off the hook very easily if I have no one else that I am accountable to.  Having the support and accountability have made ALL THE DIFFERENCE in the world for me...they've helped me make THIS time THE time I reach my weight loss goals!  Now I want to help you do the same!  Register TODAY!
